On February 5, 2021, the Russian Peat Company Group of Companies (rpc Group of Companies) took part in a meeting of the working group of the agro-industrial complex of the Moscow regional branch of Business Russia, dedicated to the topic of land reclamation. The meeting was attended by: President of the ANO National Union of Agrochemists Mikhail Ovcharenko, Chairman of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation for the development of the agro-industrial complex, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Pavel Chekmarev, Head of the department for testing elements of agricultural technologies and agrochemicals of the All-Russian Research Institute of Agrochemistry named after D.N. Olga Shapoval Pryanishnikova, Alfiya Shumikhina, Quality Director of DSMK LLC, as well as representatives of other scientific and production organizations in the agricultural sector.
The meeting was moderated by Sergey Merzlyakov, Chairman of the Committee on the Agro-Industrial Complex and Development of the Agricultural Industry, General Director of the rpc Group of Companies. From rpc, the meeting was also attended by Director of Legal Affairs Elena Zhulnitova, Advisor to the General Director for Communications Anna Voronina and Head of the Reclamation Project Vladimir Zakovyrin.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the decision to hold a conference on the topic of soil improvers with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Science of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The meeting participants raised the issue of the concepts of soil fertility and soil improvers, which are currently absent in the Russian legal framework.
Also during the meeting, the participants identified a list of federal laws on the use of land that require adjustments and discussed possible ways to amend the legislation.
